How to Set Your Client's Profile to Inactive/Active
Important: This function will currently only be available on our Professional Plan. Any unpaid invoices, failed invoices, or active/paused subscriptions must be canceled before marking clients as inactive.
In this article:
Instead of deleting client profiles, you can now make them Inactive. This is similar to archiving them! This is useful if you want to work with clients at a later date or re-initiate new payment requests at a later time.
Moving clients to inactive allows you to see who's actively engaging and receiving services without having to delete the client account of those that aren't. When a client account is inactive, it is removed from certain pages (e.g, subscriptions, invoices), but filters for the status still make them available for viewing.
Lastly, the setting that is available to show this to Advisors to edit the client and move them to an Inactive state is located under the Firm Settings, Clients, Allow Advisors to Mark Clients as Inactive, is turned "on".

For a quick clickable walkthrough, click on the image where it shows View Full screen. It will open a new window to let you click through the experience so you can view it fully:
To get started, head over to the left sidebar and click Accounts>Clients. The page will display clients listed as All clients.
1). The default tab is the Active tab.
2). Under the respective tabs, you'll also see Inactive.
When clients are moved to Inactive, they will show under that tab on the Client's page. When you click the tab at top that shows Inactive:

How to Set Your Client's Profile to Inactive
Each client can be moved to the Inactive tab using the dropdown arrow on their name and clicking Mark as Inactive. Please note that any unpaid invoices, failed invoices, or active/paused subscriptions must be canceled before marking as inactive. If these are not in these statuses, an error will show.

When clicking Mark as Inactive, a modal will show:

Once confirmed and clicking Yes, I'm sure, the client will move to the new Tab-Inactive.
If they cannot be moved, an error will explain why. Once you remove any of the reasons causing the error on that client profile, they can be moved to Inactive.
How to Set Your Client's Profile to Active
Any client in the Inactive tab can be moved back to Active if you plan to engage with them and begin providing services again!
1). Head to Accounts>Clients>Inactive.
2). Locate your client and click the drop-down to select Mark as Active.

A green banner will show at the top right of the screen when the client has been moved to Active. In the Active tab, you'll then see the client's profile.
